U.S. Africa Command Leadership Completes First Visit to Tunisia
U.S. Air Force Gen. Dagvin Anderson, commander of U.S. Africa Command, visited Tunis, Tunisia, with AFRICOM senior leaders, Nov. 12-14. Continuing a relationship over 200 years old, the command engaged face-to-face with Tunisian partners for discussions and demonstrations on how U.S.-Tunisia defense engagements have advanced Tunisia’s military operational capacity and contributions to regional security. Sergeant Emmanuel Adeyemi’s Quick Actions Earn U.S. Army Achievement Medal. In a heartwarming story of courage and skill, Sergeant Emmanuel Adeyemi, a U.S. Army combat medic originally from Lagos, Nigeria, has been awarded the Army Achievement Medal for saving multiple lives during a recent overseas mission. While deployed in Eastern Europe, Emmanuel was part of a convoy hit by an unexpected roadside explosion. The blast injured several soldiers, including members of allied forces. Acting without hesitation, Emmanuel applied life-saving first aid under enemy threat, stabilizing the wounded until evacuation teams arrived.
